CeramicsThe Ceramics Collection comprises contemporary British, European, American, and Japanese studio pottery, 18th & 19th century Welsh and English slip ware, Swansea and Nantgarw porcelain, Art Pottery and Oriental ceramics. Its strength is undoubtedly its internationally renowned collection of early 20th century British pioneer studio pottery (Martin Brothers, Bernard Leach, Shoji Hamada, Michael Cardew et al). There is also small craft collection comprising calligraphy, baskets, bronzes, Oriental carvings, glass ware, Welsh folk craft and ethnographic material though we no longer actively collect in these areas.
