Upland landscape with a rocky stream, North Wales, Betws-y-Coed?

The painting came to the University via Professor Ian Parrott, formerly Gregynog Professor of Music at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and his wife. The painting was bequeathed by a friend of theirs Mr Richard (Dick) Border. One record says that Border's wife was a daughter of William Edward Benger. Another record says that Border was a grandson-in-law of William Edmund Benger. After viewing the newly built Pantycelyn Hall he thought this painting was an appropriate work to donate to the University for use in that building.
