Paul Dalou Drury

Born: 1903, UK, England, London   Died: 1987

Printmaker. Son of the sculptor Alfred Drury (1856-1944). Studied under Malcolm Osborne (1880-1963) and Stanley Anderson (1884-1966), and alongside Graham Sutherland (1903-1980), at Goldsmiths' College where he created idyllic etchings of rustic England inspired by the work of Samuel Palmer (1805-1881). Some of these landscapes, and portraits, were published by the Twenty One Gallery during the 1920s and 30s. He taught at Goldsmiths' and later became President of The Royal Society of Painters Etchers and Engravers, 1970-75. He produced 92 prints over his career over half of which were portraits
