Harry Brockway

Born: 1958

Sculptor, printmaker and illustrator. Studied sculpture at Kingston upon Thames, 1979-81, and at the Royal Academy Schools, 1981-82, where he was also introduced to wood engraving by Sarah van Niekerk (b.1934). He then worked briefly as a teacher before training as a stone mason. Self-employed since 1988, he has received commissions for sculptural stone work and, increasingly, provided numerous wood engravings for publishers such as The Readers Digest Association, the Folio Society, the Old Stile Press and the Gregynog Press, the latter including 'The Story of Heledd' published in 1994. He is a member of The Society of Wood Engravers and lives and works in Glastonbury, Somerset
