This print was made by Hermes from a self-portrait drawing, published on the cover of Art News & Review Vo1, No.2 February and commissioned by its founder Dr Richard Gainsborough.
Self portrait. Head and shoulders, face-on view of the middle-aged artist wearing a dark top with a white collar. Delineated with a spare but energetic line including an area shading on the left side of her face. A two block colour linocut printed in brown and a greeny ochre. The paper is slightly buckled.
