GiftsGifts from individuals and institutions have significantly enhanced the art collections at the School of Art. Our Acquisition Policy does not provide for the purchase of oil paintings, and so since 1946 donations from Contemporary Art Society of Wales have been an invaluable source of works representing post-war art in Wales: among these major works by Cedric Morris, Will Roberts, Kyffin Williams and Thomas Rathmell.Similarly, when the residue of the Davies sisters' print collection was transferred from the University of Wales, Gregynog to Aberystwyth in 1988, the print collection was enriched by important etchings by James McNeill Whistler, Auguste Renoir, Anders Zorn and Augustus John.
